Ketamine Assisted Therapy
Ketamine-Assisted Therapy (KAT) is a deeply transformative treatment that combines the unique properties of ketamine with guided psychotherapy to facilitate healing on multiple levels. This approach offers a pathway to emotional and mental well-being by accessing new dimensions of awareness and supporting the mind-body connection.
Traditionally used as an anesthetic, ketamine has gained recognition for its ability to support the treatment of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, chronic pain, addiction, and existential distress, including for those facing palliative care. At lower doses, ketamine allows for profound shifts in perception, helping release deeply rooted emotional blockages and promoting resilience and healing.
Why choose to work with Ketamine at Holos?
At Holos, we recognize that true healing requires an integrated approach. Ketamine-Assisted Therapy is a powerful tool in the process of whole-person healing, where the mind, body, and spirit are seen as interconnected systems.
We honor Ketamine as a catalyst. We prepare each client by optimizing body systems and cellular health to maximize the benefit of this catalytic experience. Paired with psychotherapy, this powerful holistic approach is facilitating lasting change in the brain through neuroplasticity. This means your cells are making new connections so you can break free from old patterns, create new neural pathways, and ultimately shift into a healthier state of being.
"The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance." – Alan Watts
Client Flow with Ketamine Assisted Therapy
While Ketamine Assisted Therapy is highly individualized and based on your unique circumstances and needs, the start of a typical ketamine program at Holos includes:
Integrative & Functional Medicine Consultation, Integrative Mental Health Consultation, OR focused RN psychedelic assessment (required)
At least 2 Preparatory Sessions (required)
3 Ketamine Assisted Therapy Sessions
3-6 Integration Sessions (1-2 after each Ketamine session)
We recommend a commitment to at least 3-6 ketamine sessions, as this medicine tends to have a cumulative effect and is most beneficial after multiple treatments. In order to fully integrate the expanded states of awareness, consciousness and belief systems in our body and daily experience, we recommend an integrative and functional approach to mental health, alongside your ketamine program.
